Kathmandu: The Ministry of Land Management Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has introduced new measures aimed at making government spending more economical and transparent.
According to a circular issued by the ministry’s Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division on Monday, all offices, commissions, authorities, and departments under the ministry are now prohibited from conducting formal programs in hotels or resorts.
From now on, meetings, seminars, trainings, and workshops must be conducted within government premises—either in office conference halls or designated training facilities.
The ministry stated that this decision is intended to reduce unnecessary expenditure of public funds and ensure better utilization of existing government resources. Officials believe the move will help control wasteful spending while making government operations more efficient and cost-effective.
